“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.”

~ Michelangelo ~

I love this quote on so many levels. Life, self awareness and development can be a lot like that angel in the marble. We all have an inner layer, many of them actually, and sometimes we have to keep carving, unmasking, exploring each layer to really start to see who we are, what we can be, and where we might go.

The title of this blog was my mother’s idea. We were discussing one thing, one thing led to something she heard a character say in a movie, and she said to me “that would be a great title for you.” I agreed with her.

Many times I see people trying to mold and shape people into what they want them to be either because of religion, color of skin, economic ideologies or professions. Sometimes I see how easy it is for a person to forget who they are, who they can be and where they can go if they just remember who they are and not get lost in who everybody else wants them to be.

So, like the great artist Michelangelo, I shall carve until I set me free. I hope all of you can do the same. Finding out who you are, what you want, and how great your life could be if you just focused on being the real you instead of being the fake version of what others want you to be could be a very liberating experience.

Good for you. A person should always be them selves, not what some one else want them to be. If you try and be what other want you to be you will never be happy. I think every one should find a way to set them selves free, and I hope it end up being good for them and not bad.
